Nineteen of Medvedev's 21 titles have been earned on hardcourt
A revitalized Daniil Medvedev secured his maiden championship for over two years with a win over opponent Moutet in the competition championship match.
Medvedev, a ex- number one, has endured a difficult season, achieving just one win at the big events and undergoing a meltdown at the New York tournament.
His unpredictability on the tennis tour - and difficulties with his serve in particular - caused him falling of the world's top 10 and eventually separating with long-time coach Gilles Cervara.
Now working with Johansson and Goetzke, the tennis star has gradually progressed in the last few weeks - climaxing in a closely contested 7-5 4-6 6-3 triumph over opponent Moutet.
This marks the player's initial championship after the Rome competition and first on a hardcourt after spring of the previous year.
The win also signifies Medvedev has won 21 victories at twenty-one various competitions.
"It's the first time I am participating in a tournament with my children simultaneously, so to secure a title is especially meaningful," commented world number 14 Medvedev.
"This championship is in tribute of my child Victoria, because the maiden victory I achieved when my older daughter my daughter was born was for her."
The tennis star, the 2021 US Open champion, had failed in his previous six title deciders, including in that event in the past months.
Medvedev's retrieving play style and regular emotional displays on the tennis court had prompted observers to wonder if his skill to compete at the top level was concluded.
However the player has implemented adjustments in recent weeks, attempting to come to the net and play assertively, reinforced by an improved serving game.
The champion recovered from a break down in the initial set against the tricky Frenchman, winning four of the last five exchanges to take the lead.
The pair swapped service breaks in the second set before Moutet, bidding for his first ATP Tour victory, took control to force a final set.
The opponent defended 4 early break points in a tight deciding set before the Russian won the break to that score to secure the win.
Appropriately, the winner secured the win with a rally at the net, with Moutet failing to handle a shot after over two and a half hours.
